“TALENT VISA” ENTRY VISA – HIGHLY QUALIFIED EMPLOYMENT

Under article 25 of Law 5275/2026 (which added article 79C to the Migration Code), a new category of entry visa was established, with a validity period of twelve (12) months, for third-country nationals who possess high educational qualifications and seek admission to Greece in order to search for employment or pursue a professional activity (“talent visa”).

This provision establishes a framework for the temporary residence of highly qualified third-country nationals. It applies to graduates of foreign higher education institutions, as well as holders of master's, doctoral or post-doctoral degrees awarded by foreign higher education institutions. The visa enables them to reside in Greece and either seek employment opportunities or pursue professional activities.

The objective is to establish a favorable framework for attracting highly qualified third-country nationals who will contribute both to the economy and to the diversity of the educational and professional environment.
