In order to complete the procedure for the issuance of a Permanent Investor Residence Permit (Golden Visa), it is required that the interested third-country national open a bank account with a Greek banking institution.
Documentation required for the opening of a bank account:
Valid passport, which must be accompanied by an official document issued by a public authority including the holder’s father’s name, as well as a temporary stay permit or an entry visa (Type C or D) or an entry seal.
Residence certificate or any document that proves current residence address abroad (such as a recent public utility bill, recent notarial document, district property deed or other documents issued by a competent public authority of the country of residence).
Occupation/Professional Certificate or other document stating occupation and occupational address (such as an employer’s certificate with the job description, copy of latest salary statement, self-employment startup declaration, professional identity card or social insurance institution receipt, etc.) In case the applicant is not employed, a solemn declaration stating that he/she is not engaged in any professional activity must be submitted.
Documents that state / prove income, issued by country of permanent residence (such as a tax declaration, an employer’s certificate stating the annual income, a bank account statement showing payroll or other income source, etc.).
Certificate of issuance of a Greek Tax Identification Number (to be issued upon applicant’s arrival in Greece).
Recent greek phone number certificate (to be issued upon applicant’s arrival in Greece).
All of the above-mentioned documents (with the exception of No 5 and 6) must be submitted in original form and certified with Apostille or certified by the competent Greek Embassy or Consulate. Furthermore, all documents should be accompanied by official translation to Greek or English language.
The aforementioned documents shall be submitted to the bank by the applicant’s duly authorized attorney-at-law and following their approval by the bank, the personal presence of the applicant is required in order to finalize the account opening procedure.
